Hydro Jetting in Iowa

A cable makes a hole through a blockage. A jetter takes the blockage off the wall of the pipe. That difference is why a Iowa kitchen line that gets cabled every spring often never needs it again after one jetting - the grease layer that was narrowing the pipe is gone rather than perforated.

High-pressure water that scours grease, scale and roots back to bare pipe wall instead of drilling a hole through them.

When to call

  • The same line clogs again every few months
  • A commercial kitchen line that backs up during service
  • Grease visible when the cleanout is opened
  • Roots that keep returning after cabling
  • Old cast iron that has scaled down to a narrow channel
  • A camera pass showing build-up along the whole run

What we do

  • Camera pass first to confirm jetting is safe for the pipe
  • Nozzle matched to grease, roots or scale
  • Pressure set to the pipe material, not cranked to maximum
  • Debris flushed out rather than pushed downstream
  • Second camera pass to verify the finished line
  • Maintenance interval recommended for commercial lines

How a call with us goes

  1. Call and talk to a plumber

You get a person, not a queue. Describe what is happening and we will tell you whether it needs someone now or can wait until morning.

  2. Get an arrival window before you hang up

We tell you when a truck will be there and we call you if that changes. No four-hour windows and no silence.

  3. Agree the price before work starts

The job is quoted flat once we have seen it. You agree to that number first, and it does not move if the work runs long.

  4. Fixed, tested and cleaned up

We test what we repaired under real conditions, tidy the area, and tell you plainly what failed and what to keep an eye on.

What customers say about our hydro jetting work

★★★★★

Snapped shutoff valve under the sink flooded the cabinet. Same-day visit, replaced both angle stops while he was in there. Sensible.

Milo F. · Des Moines, IA

★★★★★

They installed a new 50 gallon heater and hauled the old one away same visit. Took about three hours start to finish and the expansion tank was included, which the other quote had left off.

Cora Z. · Cedar Rapids, IA

★★★★★

Had them out for a leak under the sink and asked about our pressure while they were here. Turned out it was way high. New regulator, and the constant small drips around the house stopped.

Frequently asked questions

Is hydro jetting safe for old pipes?

Not always, which is why we camera first. A sound clay or cast iron line handles jetting fine at the right pressure. A line that is already cracked or badly deteriorated should be repaired, not jetted, and we will tell you that.

How is jetting different from snaking?

A cable bores a channel through the clog and the line reopens at reduced diameter. Jetting strips the build-up off the pipe wall so you get the full bore back. Snaking is faster and cheaper; jetting lasts far longer.

How often should a restaurant jet its grease line in Iowa?

Most Iowa kitchens do well on a six month interval, busier ones on quarterly. We set the schedule off what the camera shows in your line rather than a generic number.

Will jetting cut tree roots?

Yes, a root nozzle cuts roots back to the pipe wall. It does not fix the crack or joint that let them in, so we usually pair it with a camera inspection and a conversation about lining.
